Definition

  • BS 25999 is an internationally recognized business continuity management (BCM) standard developed in 2006 by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in consultation with the UK business community, replacing the Publicly Available Specification 56 (PAS 56) issued on the same subject in 2003. The standard provides a basis for understanding, developing, and implementing business continuity plans within an organization and a comprehensive set of requirements based on BCM best practice covering the whole BCM life cycle.
