- AT THE UNIVERSITY of Utah, in Salt Lake City, the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) focuses on understanding cancer at a molecular and genetic level. Its mission is to “find the causes of cancer, to develop new and better treatments, and to prevent people from ever developing cancer.” It is an institution with extensive cooperation among scientists, physicians, and medical educators.
