International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology
Definition
- The International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) is a nonprofit organization that provides a global forum for scientific discussions about pharmacoepidemiology, with an ultimate goal of improving public health worldwide. To accomplish that goal, pharmacoepidemiologists study how drugs affect significant numbers of people, using techniques gleaned from pharmacology and epidemiology alike; the field of pharmacoepidemiology has, therefore, been called the bridge between these two scientific disciplines.
