Definition
- John Bowden Connally was governor of Texas, secretary of the navy, secretary of the treasury, and advisor to both Democratic and Republican presidents. A Democrat and advisor to Lyndon Johnson for most of his political career, he was appointed secretary of the treasury by Richard Nixon.
