Lautenberg Amendment
Definition
- The Lautenberg Amendment is a protective measure for victims of domestic violence. The U.S. Congress enacted it to protect abuse victims, as the possession of a firearm by a chronically abusive partner greatly increases the chance that the victim will receive a fatal injury.
