Definition
- Proposition 187 or Save Our State (SOS) initiative was a California ballot measure that was proposed and passed in 1994. Proposition 187 was the start of an anti–illegal immigration movement in the western states of the United States and was designed to curtail services and employment to illegal immigrants.
