Ulrich Beck
Definition
- Ulrich Beck's work became widely known to an international audience in the early 1990s when his book Risk Society: Towards a New Modernity (1986) was first published in English translation. Though the book is wide-ranging and often surprisingly impassioned in its arguments, most readers agree that he makes two novel claims.
