Definition
- At a young age, Virginia Apgar, born in Westfield, New Jersey, decided upon medicine for her future career. Apgar majored in zoology, chemistry, and physiology and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts in 1929.
