Yemen
Definition
- Yemen, a country with a long history, is considered the fountainhead of Arab civilization, a reputation that has been partly supported by its strategic location for trade. After about 400 years of intermittent occupation by the British and the Turks, the Republic of Yemen emerged from the unification of the traditionalist North Yemen and Marxist South Yemen in 1990.
