antiracist training for educators
Definition
- Some antiracist educator training occurs in specific courses and workshops on “antiracism.” More often, it is embedded in broader “professional development (PD) for diversity,” which prompts inquiry into issues of diversity, culture, and inequality in schools and classrooms. Some PD prepares teachers to teach students to think differently about themselves and society. [Source: Encyclopedia of Diversity in Education; Antiracist Training for Educators]
