Definition
- According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), “broadband” describes any Internet connection rate of 200kbps (kilobytes per second) or higher. In common use, however, broadband means connection speeds greater than the “narrowband”—that is, 56kbps. [Source: Encyclopedia of New Media; Broadband]
