community safety
Definition
- DefinitionA term used increasingly in both policy and academic circles to describe a local, multiagency partnership approach to the reduction of crime and disorder alongside the fear of crime and disorder, and, more expansively, the promotion and achievement of public safety both for and by communities. By its very nature it defies neat compartmentalization either linguistically or organizationally and is thus marked by differing policy translations.
