gendered and racialized resistance
Definition
- Resistance in the workplace refers to acts of noncompliance, short of outright protest or organized collective action, typically carried out by subordinates, with work requirements imposed and regulated by superordinates. Acts of resistance often serve as means for subordinates to exert a modicum of power in the face of an unequal hierarchical relationship, often in order to informally and subtly challenge or subvert.
