Definition
- Graffiti is among the most pervasive and visible of contemporary street crimes. Generally, graffiti denotes the variety of words and figures illicitly inscribed on the alley walls, buildings, trains, and freeway overpasses that collectively make up the spatial environment of “the street.” Specifically, graffiti references the particular forms of street marking that have proliferated over the past few decades within various urban subcultures.
