Definition
- Most households in 21st-century Western societies employ an array of labor- and time-saving devices to accomplish the basic tasks associated with day-to-day living practices. These objects, designed and acquired with a particular instrumental (as opposed to strictly aesthetic) purpose in mind, are referred to as home appliances.
