- Sex offenses are acts that violate state or federal laws proscribing certain sexual behavior and that carry a risk of prosecution and punishment. They may be actions that are absolutely prohibited, such as child molestation, or that are appropriate under certain conditions and not others, such as intentional intimate touching.
