Definition
- any state or federal laws designed to prohibit convicted criminals from profiting from their crimes by way of lucrative book or movie deals or by other means of commercial exploitation. These laws take their name from the Son of Sam killings by David Berkowitz, who attempted to sell his story to a major publisher.
