Definition
- Transportation security is the oversight and provision of security services to transportation systems, especially security against criminal activity such as terrorism. In the United States, security of transportation systems is under the jurisdiction of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), established in December 2001 as a response to the September 11, 2001, attacks.
