transracialization
Definition
- The term transracialization is often used to refer to acquiring (or appropriating) knowledge of race and racial identity, attributes, and behaviors of individuals or groups whose race is different from one's own. An individual might, for example, incorporate knowledge of racial characteristics based on exposure to a different racial group through family, or living immersed in a racially specific community.
