Definition
- A blue-ribbon commission was appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1981 to study the status of K–12 and higher education in the United States. The commission, formally known as the National Commission on Excellence in Education, issued its results on April 26, 1983, in a document titled A Nation at Risk.
