- Throughout the Arab world, citizen journalists have emerged as the vanguard of new social movements dedicated to promoting human rights and democratic values. After briefly surveying blogging and the expanding connectivity in the Arab region, and citing some instances from Bahrain, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia, this entry focuses on citizen journalists in Egypt, especially the younger generation.
