Bobby Seale
Definition
- Born as Robert George Seale, he became the chairman and cofounder of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense (BPP) from 1966 to 1974. Seale, spurred by the assassination of Malcolm X and an increasing call for civil rights activism, formed the BPP to guard against police brutality and provide social services in African American neighborhoods.
