- THE CYPRUS ANTI-CANCER Society, established in 1971, engages in a number of activities aimed at preventing cancer and improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. The society funds education and training programs for health-care professionals in oncology and palliative care, including funding physicians and nurses to complete specialist palliative care training overseas and providing introductory hospice training to student nurses, and providing funding for travel to conferences and seminars abroad.
