G-8 Africa Action Plan

Definition

  • At its 2002 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, the G-8 formally responded to the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD). Christened the G-8 African Action Plan (GAAA), that response outlined responsibilities expected from the G-8 as contributions to the NEPAD. The GAAA specified that, inasmuch as African countries abided by NEPAD’s operational principles, G-8 members remained bound to a litany of commitments to Africa.
