Global Compact
Definition
- The Global Compact is the idea of United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan and was initiated in response to widespread concerns about the impact of corporate practices on human, environmental, and labor standards. It was also intended to divert attention away from organizations like the World Trade Organization (WTO) that had become targets for the antiglobalization movement.
