HIV prevention in young adults
Definition
- Since AIDS was first identified in 1981, globally, 70 million persons have been infected with HIV, and 28 million have died (Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS [UNAIDS], 2002). In the United States, the cumulative number of reported AIDS cases is more than 816,000, nearly 468,000 of whom have died.
