Herman Mudgett
Definition
- Herman Mudgett, widely considered America's first serial killer, was born in 1861 to Levi and Theodate Mudgett in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Mudgett developed an interest in medicine at an early age and as a young boy reportedly trapped animals in order to perform surgery on them.
