Definition
- The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to promote HIV vaccine development. While other international coalition groups such as the Global Fund also work to treat and prevent infectious diseases, IAVI is the main international organization that specifically funds HIV vaccine research.
