- Jules Gabriel Verne was born on February 8, 1828, in lie Feydeau, in the city of Nantes, France. He was the first of five children born from the marriage between his father Pierre, a Parisian attorney who came from a lineage of jurists from Provence, and Sophie Allotte de la Fuye, of Breton and Scottish origin.
