Julius Axelrod
Definition
- Julius Axelrod was an American biochemist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine together with Sir Bernard Katz and Ulf von Euler in 1970. Axelrod was presented with the Nobel for research on how neurotransmitters regulate the metabolism of the nervous system and on the mechanism for their storage, release, and inactivation.
