  • Lithuania, a nation roughly the size of West Virginia and having an estimated 2007 population of 3.4 million people, is located in northeastern Europe, between Russia and Latvia and bordered by the Baltic Sea. The first Lithuanian Americans who immigrated to the United States, around the beginning of the 20th century, were economic immigrants.
