  • The National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI) is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to distribute information about substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment free of charge or for a low-cost recovery fee. Located in Rockville, Maryland, NCADI is one of the largest federal clearinghouses, distributing hundreds of titles of materials produced by various federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.NCADI was established to be consistent with the Public Health Service Act, as amended by the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986, the Omnibus Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, and the Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Administration (ADAMHA) Reorganization Act of 1992.
