National Council for History Education
Definition
- The National Council for History Education (NCHE) is a not-for-profit corporation based in College Park, Maryland, dedicated to the promotion of the study of history in schools and in society. NCHE is motivated by the belief that current issues are best understood in their historical context and that historical study is the precondition for intelligent political judgment, the implications of which call for a fundamental reordering of the American curriculum from grade school to graduate school.
