New Deal for Communities
Definition
- New Deal for Communities (NDC) refers to a major area-based regeneration program aimed at improving the quality of life of residents in 39 disadvantaged English neighborhoods. Its primary objectives were to tackle, simultaneously, factors that most impact on quality of life, namely, poor job prospects, high crime, educational underachievement, poor health, and the poor quality of housing and physical environment in these communities.
