Paul C. Lauterbur

- Paul Lauterbur is an American chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2003 with Peter Mansfield for his development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Thanks to its computerized scanning technology, the MRI produces images of internal body structures, particularly those with soft tissues. [Source: Encyclopedia of Global Health; Lauterbur, Paul C.
