- Peter Bachrach (1918–2007) was a political scientist and a prominent analyst of participatory democracy. Born in Winnetka, Illinois, Bachrach earned his bachelor's degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and a PhD in political science from Harvard University in 1951.
