Definition
- Ramses II, also called Ramses the Great, was the third king of the 19th Dynasty of Egypt. He reigned for 67 years, from approximately 1290 BCE to 1223 BCE. Ramses II brought Egypt to its height of prosperity and power. [Source: Encyclopedia of Anthropology; Ramses II]
