- The Red Latinoamericana de Antropología Jurídica (RELAJU; in English, the Latin American Network on Legal Anthropology) was created in Ecuador in 1997 at the 49th International Congress of Americanists. The founding members included Milka Castro (Chile), Esther Sánchez (Colombia), María Teresa Sierra (Mexico), and Teresa Valdivia (Mexico).
