- American anthropologist, author, and playwright, Robert Ardrey was known for his contributions to anthropology, the gilded stage, and silver screen. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ardrey's interest in science and writing were sustained after attaining a PhD from the University of Chicago (1930).
