- Rudolf Hilferding (1877–1941) was a leading Austro-Marxist theorist and political figure in the German Social Democratic Party (SPD). Author of Finance Capital: A Study of the Latest Phase of Capitalist Development (1910), classical Marxism's most important political economy work after Marx's Capital (1867), Hilferding introduced the term organized capitalism.
