- Established in 1984, the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) is a nonprofit alliance of more than 100 academic medical centers and 170 of their affiliated hospitals, representing approximately 90% of the nation's nonprofit academic medical centers. Based in Oak Brook, Illinois, the consortium offers its members specific programs and services to improve clinical, operational, financial, and patient safety performance.
