- WITH A MISSION of advancing knowledge and enhancing care, the University of Minnesota Cancer Center (UMCC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, became a Comprehensive Cancer Center as recognized by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) only 7 years after its establishment. To achieve its mission, the UMCC has a multidisciplinary, collaborative research environment focusing on all aspects of cancer—its causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
