adaptive reuse
Definition
- Adaptive reuse is a way of preserving existing buildings through a change in the purpose of the building from what was originally intended, usually after the property has matured within the property life cycle. One fundamental characteristic of adaptive reuse is the conversion of a previously underused building to one that has an economically viable use.
