Definition
- Juvenile aftercare is simply the monitoring of youth within the community after a period of confinement. Rather than a sentence imposed by a judge, aftercare is the final component of a youth's institutionalization (the original sentence). [Source: Encyclopedia of Juvenile Justice; Aftercare]
