Definition
- Angina is the term for the chest pain or discomfort that occurs when cardiac muscle does not receive adequate blood flow. This is usually caused by the buildup of fat and cholesterol within the coronary arteries, and can therefore be considered a sign of heart disease. [Source: Encyclopedia of Global Health; Angina]
