Definition
- Aprismo is a political philosophy developed by Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, the dominant political figure of twentieth century Peru. Derived from his political party (APRA—Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana, or Popular Revolutionary American Alliance), aprismo emerged in the 1920s and the 1930s as a response to both imperial capitalism and European Marxism.
