- Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) refers to a set of perspectives and strategies that emphasize the importance of mapping and mobilizing the existing strengths—or assets—of struggling neighborhoods. Though developed initially through work in inner-city neighborhoods, these approaches have been successfully adapted to suburban and rural contexts as well.
