Definition
- Although their fame is achieved outside of the political realm, celebrities (those who derive their fame from entertainment media, such as television, film, music, and sports) are increasingly becoming involved in various aspects of the political process. They commonly associate with elected officials, run for elected office, or attempt to influence policy and elections. [Source: Encyclopedia of Political Communication; Celebrities in Politics]
