Definition
- Childhood cancers are considered to be rare. In the United States an estimated 9,500 new cases were expected in 2006 and in European countries 1 in 500 children is estimated to be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 15. [Source: Encyclopedia of Global Health; Childhood Cancers]
