Definition
- Community development, in its most general sense, is a field that focuses on improving the lives of people by changing the conditions through which they meet basic needs—food, clothing and shelter. Who should do what, how it should be done or what success looks like varies considerably based on who is being asked. [Source: The SAGE Encyclopedia of Action Research; Community Development]
